Now here's an album that rocks (Progrock-)BALLS and kicks (Progrock-)ASSES!!

If you weren't convinced of the quality that The Flower Kings brought in the 10 years of their existence, then you must be now!!
Roine Stolt made another superb production on 10 songs, and each one gives a fine level of the skills of the individual members. And either it's "Timelines", "Babylon" or "Cosmic Circus", the pure progrock-atmosphere contains!!

I hope nobody will blame me for writing the following, but it's what one must see as a great compliment: sometimes you imagine you're in the 70's again! Yes, Genesis, Frank Zappa, long, spin out songs, in the good tradition of the symphonic giants from those days!
My absolute favourite song is "Drivers Seat", that comes in as a fresh and, in my opinion, leading track on the album, although "Adam & Eve" gives the album its name. Damn, that song stands! It enters your speakers like a whirlwind on "hold", then it pursues its way with an uptempo, almost funkrock part, into a jazzrocklike bridge to an easier part of the song, where the singing is very clear. Again some jazzrock (also listen to Zappa's "Sheik Yerbouti"!) and then the whirlwind is on hold again, but then in another theme! At the end of the song we enter the first part again, and that's that!! Great, great song!!

For a while it was "not done" to make songs longer than 5 minutes, but what the hell, why not? If the different parts of the song fit well together, there's absolutely no problem. It's the "feel" of the composer(s) that's important and not what one may think about it! The real progrocker will hear the quality anyway, no doubt about that!

Again it's amazing where the inspiration comes from to write another 10 songs (or more?), but I imagine The Flower Kings don't have a great problem doing that! For people who are not well known with the albums of The Flower Kings, "Adam & Eve" is a very good one to start with, if you like progrock of course! It'll take you automatically to the other ones. Choices enough!

Yes Adam & Eve, where love on earth began: I love this album!
So with love: very highly recommended!!!
